We are planning a trip to the Dells in June. Anyone have suggestions for campgrounds and things to do in the area?
Thanks

Fort McCoy is not too far from the Dells and it is an awesome military RV Park that is open to the public. We stayed there last July and it was great. It's on highway 21 just a tad north of I-90 between Sparta and Tomah.

If the Circus Museum near Baraboo is still open, that's great, especially for kids. The House on the Rock in that area of the state is the top tourist destination. we've been a couple of times . . . awesome. Madison is excellent, the Saturday Farmer's Market (which goes around the capital) is one of the best in the US, if it's open this early in the year.

We stayed at the KOA (mainly because we had a grandson with us and knew they would be plenty of kids there). The DUCKS ride was interesting. We went to the water ski show which was very entertaining. Can't remember the name of it. We also went to a couple of "Dairy breakfasts" in area which was very interesting. Real good breakfast and a tour of the dairy and other farm operations
We did a lot of stuff but my memory fails me on the details. Very interesting area.

LOL I doubt it the ones I saw years ago when I was a kid at the Seabee base by my house were old then and the Navy hasn't bought any new ones.

there is no such thing as a new Duck. By law they could not bring them back from the Pacific. The ones we have are the ones that were left in US and are like the cars in Cuba ---- rebuilt over and over again.

We went to the Circus Museum this past year. Well worth the time. They have a very large collection of circus wagons and yes they have a one ring circus. House on the Rock is worth the drive.
I would recommend staying near Baraboo.. There are several RV parks around Baraboo and a casino north of town with an RV park with full hookups. It is only a 10 minute drive to the Dells.

Almost forgot -- if you time it correctly - you could see an old fashioned circus parade. July
