I am looking at a 2005 Affinity which has 31,000 miles on it and does not have the wet PTO kit. The recall did not cover 2005 only 2006-2008. Do I need to do it anyway or was there a design change from 2005 to 2006 models? I am copying the recall notice below Also the CAC was replaced in 2008, but the radiator is original. I know the radiator will need replacing eventually, what about the CACs...do they fail regularly too? The replacement CAC was close to $5,000 on the invoice.

I don't know about the Affinity but my 2005 Inspire needed the Wet Kit.

I've not had an issue with the CAV on either my Inspire or current Intrigue.

I had to replace the CAC on the Allure. I'm on my 4th CAC , and 3 rd radiator on my Current coach. Fortunately I didn't have to pay for the Allure, warranty. And I have only had to pay for one CAC and one radiator. The first two CAC on my current coach were paid for by CC. One CAC was paid for by my insurance company, the last I paid for. CC paid for the first radiator replacement. I paid for the second, and the radiator company and OMC paid for the third. That was 6 years ago and all is well now. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

My 2005 Magna, which is mechanically identical to the 2005 Affinity, needed a wet kit installed. Fountain RV in Lakeland Florida did the work. They had to remove the pump that is attached to the power take off on the transmission to determine whether it needed replacement. It is a real safety issue, so it must be done.
As I understand it, many of the units were assembled with grease, and some dry. The dry ones wear and are prone to fail. You can't tell for sure which you have without pulling it apart.

I did the wet kit on my 2006 Magna with 58K miles. I believe it was the greased version, but everything was really dry, very little grease was left, it was near failure.
