Title: Low Air Lights Inop

On my 2000 Magna the 3 low air lights (front, rear, and low air) have quit working. Has anyone experienced this and have a fix for me? The air pressure is fine and is recovering fine but have no lights either when the system is low and key is turned on or when the system is bled down. There obviously is a switch in the system to turn on the lights - anyone know where it is located?

As always your help is much appreciated.

Switches are in front drivers side compartment on our 04 Allure

Thanks Steve. Is it a single switch unit to all three lights or separate switches? Are yours in the 12V fuse junction box in that forward compartment? I've found the correct wires in the junction box going to a gang strip but that's as far as I've been able to track them so far. Appreciate the information.

Dan,

There is a row of air switches in the front left compartment where your vacuum pump and air compressor is located. They are round with a single wire lead to each one.(front left behind headlight mounting) One is that it will not allow your slides to deploy unless your maxi-brake is applied.(I think wire #28) Because there is only one lead, the switch case is ground and is likely corroded enough where it lost ground. You could back off each switch and clean the area, and retighten. To locate the proper switch, ground a jumper wire and go to the terminal of each switch, and have someone watch the lights on your dashboard. I think it is just a question of cleaning the mounting of the switch. They do make a replacement with two leads, one of which is a dedicated ground. I did install three of these on my '01 Magna I had. Start simple first.

Fred - My switches were exactly as you described on the left side of compartment just behind the headlight. I have no clue exactly where the problem was but I removed and checked the outer two switches (the middle switch appeared to be for the voice warning system. Didn't really find anything glaring and I'm still not really sure how the switches work as far as a ground goes, but I cleaned them up some and reinstalled them and voila the lights are back! I appreciate that you didn't dump your Country Coach knowledge when you went to another brand - and that you have continued to read this site.

Steve/Kevin - Appreciate your help with my low air light problem. Steve you narrowed the search down and that was much help. The lights are now working although I am clueless what I did to fix the problem.

Kevin - I may contact you to check on your switches. Appreciate your letting me (and everyone else on the forum) know that you have them available.

Dan,

Thank you for the boost on my ego. Those switches use the switch case for ground, you now made a good ground, so they now work. Kevin Waite would be a great resource for advice/parts/service. After sixteen years, you could change them out for peace of mind. The part number escapes me, but those switches are available with two terminals, one of which is an external ground. That is what I used when I changed mine out. I grounded all three with a star washer via that second terminal and never had another problem. Give Kevin a call if need be.
