Does anybody have any service center recommendations in southern California? Possibly somebody you think might have experience with the HWH slide mechanism. My slide somehow got off track and it looks like I''ll need an experienced mobile tech to get me back on the road.

When we lived in SOCAL, we were pleased with the service at M & M Coach in Chino, however, we moved to AZ in 2008.

I HAVE HAD THE SAME RV MECHANIC FOR OUR 2005 INSPIRE FOR ELEVEN YEARS. HE IS THE MECHANIC FOR ABOUT 50 HIGH END RV'S AT AN INDOOR STORAGE FACILITY CALLED THE TOY STORE, IN SAN DIEGO CA. HIGH END TO ME MEANS SOME RV'S VALUE OVER A MILLION DOLLARS. OUR 2005 INSPIRE WOULD BE AT THE LOW END OF THE TYPE OF RV HE MAINTAINS.
I HAVE NO PROBLEM GIVING YOU HIS NAME AND PHONE NUMBER """" JOHN GIES """"( 619-634-7834 ) MOST HONEST/KNOWLEDGEABLE MECHANIC I HAVE EVER HAD AND WE HAVE BEEN MOTORHOMING FOR FORTY YEARS.

Colton is probably the best in the West for chassis stuff for CC's. On the other hand, Brian, you must be from Chicago if you only find that neighborhood and the Mexican Mafia a LITTLE scary. Someone was murdered right next door one night I was there. It's .45 ACP in your lap kind of camping at night if you like that stuff. If you need to overnight, I suggest you leave the coach with them (they lock it in--and you should see the locks!) and stay in a hotel.

Heck, I've had bigger problems in Lafayette Louisiana. Coltons not really that bad, but then I grew up in Reno

I have you all beat! I grew up in South Central. Three people shot (dead) one house away from mine. But then, after I finally got out of school, I escaped to North California. Now I believe Thomas Wolfe: "You can't go home again." Nor would I want to.

Recommend Temecula Valley RV.

Agree that Colton seems to be more orientated to chassis and mechanical related activity, which I've felt they've provided me with good service.

Redlands gave me bad vibes on my phone conversation with them. And then I really felt I had to watch my wallet just standing in the Indio FMCA exhibit, and listening in on conversations from their staff to other RV'ers. I made a point to stand around and listen for about 10 minutes. And I chuckles when senior gentlemen walked away from a conversation, and when his wife asked him 'What do you think?' - 'He shook his head and squeezed his nose shut.'...

I've also worked with Stan's recommendation, Mr Giles. He provided good competent work for us, but I'm not sure how well he is equipped to handle a major slide repair, if it requires removal of the slide to repair. (Stan would have a better feel for this then i.) I will work with Mr Giles again when our schedules sync for me needing service in the San Diego region.

I mentioned if my schedules for service sync, as we typically do a yearly stop in Oregon area, at Oregon Motor Coach. For major items, and normal maintenance activity. They used to provide a slight shop discount rate during the slow winter months. And then I do other items while in the off travel season working with Temecula Valley RV.

Good luck on you slide out! And best,

Smitty

Thanks so much everybody for the recommendations! I have dealt with Colton Truck Terminal in the past and have had pretty good luck there. Even stayed overnight, but maybe I would re-think that again, ha. Appears that they no longer work on slides.

I looked up service technicians on HWH's website and they have "Master" technicians that HWH told me are especially well trained on their products. (I think they said they've been back to the HWH factory in Iowa or something like that). Has anybody had experience with one of these two?

Asking price would be useful too! We have been looking. While I lean towards the 05-06 models as I know the CAT engines better I might be interested and we are not far from PDX...

My husband and I bought a 2010 Inspire, Venice model that is bath and a half. I think it has less than 30K miles on it.
We intended to use it more, but life changed. His mother moved in with us and is to frail to leave home alone and too frail to go with~~ So, we are going to sell it. We gave $265,000. for it, hope to recover possibly $225K or best offer.
Not using it , may as well not own it for a few years. Thanks Kay Neubauer NQH@... (NQH@...)

If you have that nice of a coach, rather than take such a big hit/loss, it may be better to place it in covered storage and just drive it every other month for a few miles to keep all of the systems going and have it ready when you need it.

Storing, Ah yes. That is exactly what we have been doing. But we own 25 acres on the edge of our little town in Aubrey, Texas, that needs to be developed. It will be over a million dollars we will have to borrow to develop the land to prepare to sell as homesites. It would be better financially if we didn't own it until we are done with the development. I am torn about it~~ I have been dragging my feet about advertising it for sale~~ So , "Baby" is in her garage, waiting for us to be ready to go play, or sell her.. Kay
