Title: Fuel gauge on SilverLeaf

My fuel gauge on my dash works fine, but the fuel gauge in the SilverLeaf does not show anything. If I program SilverLeaf to scan "distance to empty", or "fuel level", it shows zero. Either there is not a SilverLeaf sensor in my coach, or it is broken. Do you guys know if that was a special option on SilverLeaf? Or is it standard (like engine coolant temp, torque or turbo boost...). I don't want to spend a lot of time trouble shooting it if there is not a SilverLeaf fuel sensor installed.

You may just have the engine monitor installed on your silver leaf, that is the case with my VMS 240. It has provisions but is not wired in for it.

Yes, that makes sense. On my VMS 240 I do get all the engine monitoring data, but not the fuel or other coach things (road temp, outside temp, etc...). That's ok, I have the gauge on dash, thanks, saved me a lot of work!

Anybody know if the dash fuel gauge throws a yellow light when near empty, like a car does?

My VMS 240 also has the auto gen start which has to be turned on if it is installed in yours.

There is no censoring in your coach for fuel with Silverleaf

Several years ago I was annoyed by my inaccurate fuel gauge. I replaced the pickup in the tank with Silverleaf fuel tank sensor. It uses an ultrasonic sensor to measure the level of fuel in the tank. (The capacity and shape of the tank have to be programmed into the unit, so that fuel level can be determined). It has two sets of pickups - one for the Silverleaf, and one for your existing fuel gauge. I have been pleased with it's performance.

That's great! I would like to do that too. Who did the work?
