Hello all,
We are in Amarillo in a campground and have a bad fuel leak. The leak is near the middle of the engine on the passenger side. It only leaks when running and there is pressure behind it. It looks like a (return?) line leak. Is this a problem the group has heard about, or is common? It is a 2005 Magna with a C13 caterpillar.
Also, any suggestions about a mobile repair company in Amarillo?

Heard about leaks between the filter and the lift pump and from the filters to the injection pump. Yours is the first on the return line for me. -TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731. PS> I would say call the Cummins people in Amarillo, but I know you have a Cat.

I just had the same problem on a C9. Peterson CAT determined that it was the return line at the block. They replaced O-rings and the regulator, which corrected the problem, unfortunately they had to go thru the bedroom.

I had the same fuel return line leak at the rear of the engine.
Not a difficult fix, however you must access through the bedroom hatch.

On my coach there is a manifold where the lift pump is mounted to. Half the manifold is used by the pump to bring in fuel from the tank through the primary filter and pump it out through the secondary filter to the injector pump. The other half is used as a junction for excess fuel from the pump and injectors. A hose is connected to this junction and returns to the tank. This is the area I would guess the leak is. Access from the top.

I had used Tow Bros. in Amarillo some years ago to do the wet PTO thing. They did a great job on the PTO for me. Good shop.

It was in fact a leak between the lift pump and filter. High Plains Tire & Diesel Service, Inc (806-220-2200) came over in about 30 minutes and removed the hose and had another one made and installed in about 2 1/2 hours. The Petro shop can't work on passenger vehicles but referred me. While $442 isn't cheap, it is worth it to me.

Well I had the same fuel return line leak at the rear of my C-9. Fuel was dripping from the bell housing so I removed the bedroom mirrors and track pulled the cover again and found out Country Coach used push together air line fittings that are not made for fuel. I took it in to Peterson Cat in Portland and they installed a compression style fitting, problem solved.
