The PTO was just considered a maintenance item by Country Coach, to be greased every 5K miles I think. So you don't need a wet PTO if you are willing to do the work, it doesn't look that hard to grease, easy access. I installed a wet PTO for convenience, and I think was about $1500. However they will fail if not wet or not greased regularly. I guess all things being equal, I would lean towards preemptive jobs of doing the wet PTO and bypassing that silly "school bus" dash heat pump. There are enough things that can fail on the road, why not eliminate those two in the comfort of your own garage/storage facility.
