I have received numerous messages from owners that are experiencing creeping window seals on both CC and other National RV motorhomes.
So far approximately 50% of SeGi window owners with the problem have been given adjustments from complete replacement, to parts replacement both with and without shipping.
I have begun collecting information on this problem to determine if it is reasonable to either approach the government with the data or seek other solutions from the company. Should you be an owner of an RV of any manufacturer with SeGi windows and either have the problem or have received a policy adjustment from the company I please send me the following information to kzrvstuff@...>
I am collecting the information to determine how many customers have experienced this issue. If you have "Creeping Seals" in your windows please provide the following information:
RV model:
Year:
Coach (or VIN) # Mileage:
Window Glass Manufacturer if not SeGi: Date code on window glass:
Your first name:
I already have a significant number of responses and will continue to collect information for several months and will post the progress on the issue from time to time. Many thanks to those of you that have responded.

Joe,
I know this is a reply to an old message but are you still collecting info? We have '02 Country Coach that was manufactured in '01 with the SeGi windows. Three are snaking and sure the rest to follow. Anyone else have any info on the snaking issue? Appreciate any feedback.

I don't know if I still have the information. I received input not only from CC owners but also from owners of several other models that used SeGi windows. If I remember correctly approx. 50 owners had responded and some had received help from CC for the problem but most had not.
I could not understand why CC continued to use SeGi and then I learned that National RV (then owners of the CC brand) was a majority stockholder in SeGi. It was like overlooking poor quality to buy from thier brother. They still use the inferior windows after more than 10 years of problems.
I was intially (when my coach was 4.5 yrs old) told that CC would discuss my problem with SeGi and I was to get back to them with the number and position of the windows that needed replacement (they claim the window cannot be replaced except as a total unit).
Unfortunately, I waited until my coach was 5.3 years old to get back as I was travelling. When I did I was told that since my coach was now over 5 years old there would be nothing they could do.
Last year I was working on a trade for a new CC Intrigue at Lazy Day's in Seffner, Fl. Unknowingly, they added insult to injury when discussing the value of my trade. "Your coach is in really excellent condition and we could give you full book value except for the problem with the windows. Due to that we must deduct $15,000 from your trade value." I left so fast the salesman was dumbfounded. I am certain I could have negotiated some of the $15k away but it was like rubbing salt in a wound so I just left the papers on the desk and went to lunch never to return.
Don't misunderstand, I am CC supporter. I still have that '98 Intrigue and it has been an excellent coach except for the windows.
I also think their support is better than most. This year we will trade for a new unit but it probably will not be a CC because I will not foolishly purchase another coach with SeGi windows. I do believe in voting with my dollars.

Joey,
Thanks for the reply. We just bought this Coach which is just over five years old this month. When we looked at it I knew about 'snaking' but not in detail. The bath room window was the only one that noticed, maybe because it was bad. Since that time three other windows started snaking all on the same side face the full blunt of Florida sun. Seems like in the future I will be having more window problems. If you hear of anyone that has attempted to rebuild these windows let me know. Once again thanks for the reply as your info has been helpful.

We also have a problem with our windows. We are very dissapointed with C C for not taking care of us. The company who manufacturers these windows should have be held responsible for this problem.

You aren't the only ones Foretravel people are pulling their hair with Creation windows. At least SE-gi will help for three years with replacements and have heard up to 5 at 50/50. Creation turns a cold shoulder after 24 months.

How do you get SE-gi to help with the windows? CC says they (Se-gi) is very strict now on the one year warranty. Period, final.
And exactly what is snaking? My driver side little window (next to the one that opens) has fogged. I was told that the seal leaked?

There are several posts on the subject on the RV America bulletin board, as there have been in Motorhome and FMCA Magazine in the past, with varying results. One gentlemen called the manufacture directly and had them inspect his coach directly and they worked out a deal. A few years back a CC owner got his replaced by complaing to Motorhome Magazine complaint Line. Another got the former VP of CC to call in order to get his replaced free after two years. There are as many stories as there are situations I'm afraid. Then two the management of Se-gi may now be in over their heads, and have taken a very strict line. TWI 2004 Intrigue..11731
