Hello again!

This is a relatively new rig for us and I noticed yesterday that the dash radio/CD player would not work if I had the House Battery turned off.

We had the House Battery shut off moved to the battery compartment since the toggle switch became inoperable. Could the service folks made some sort of error in hooking it all up?

Thanks for your insight

In many rigs the memory back up voltage is supplied by the chassis battery, but the operational power is supplied by house batteries. This helps remove a draw from the chassis battery when playing radio while parked.

If this radio has the emergency weather band, it may be wired off the gen set battery so that it has power all the time, like the burglar alarm .
