I just purchased a 2013 Ford Edge (3.5L). I am allowed to tow the Edge w/ 4 wheels down, ignition on and in natural. My question is; can I have installed a toggle switch the will disconnect the fuse to the navigation display in order to save battery power? According to the manual there is 1 fuse to the display. It's on as soon as you turn the key. Thank you kindly.

I also sometimes tow a 13 Edge. What I did was just added a charging wire to the battery. Work great except if you use the brakes a lot then the charging system doesn't keep up, but other than that it works well.

On my 2011 Edge the Sync/Navigation screen will go off after a bit. However there will still be a drain of the battery. I did end up with a dead battery once.
IMPORTANT TIP: At the end of the day, start the car in 'N.' If the battery is dead and you shift to 'P' and try to start, you can't move the car until your recharge, which requires the removal of the battery cables to charge back up.
I installed a 'Trik-l-Start' unit. Works like a charm.

The best way to fix the drain battery problem is to install a on/off switch to the negative side of the battery.

I have a 2013 mkx. I put the display in valet mode, and have a charge wire. The last two times I've towed, no dead battery.
