After all the discussion regarding ethylene glycol and propylene glycol with respect to the Cummins Diesel, it only seemed appropriate that the Hydro Hot system should be addressed.
I posed the ethylene vs propylene question to the Hydro hot manufacturer, Vehicle Systems Inc. The response depends upon the particular Hydro Hot model installed. In my case, model HHE-508-07M, it is OK to mix ethylene and propylene. This was a relief since I had been topping off the system with ethylene before the mixing issue came up. However, if the model number ends in -08M, then it is propylene only.
I believe that CC probably now uses propylene exclusively because of the Cummins issue and the fact that it is OK in the Hydro Hot.
