I though I had seen on the forum that faster Express Network could be used on a "per talk minute" basis where the minutes come from the talk minute bucket. Verizon is telling me there was some confusion and if you are not on a unlimited expressnet plan ($80/mo) or megabyte plan, then you have to pay 69 cents per minute for expressnet, day or night or weekend.
Anyone with experience to the contrary.
Yes, the slower Quiknet comes from the talk minutes including the free night and weekend minutes.

I have Verizon Mobile Office which has both Express Net and Quick 2 net. My plan which is the National one rate (no roaming or long distance to/from anywhere nationally), allows me to use my 400 per month minutes for either talking or online.
My bill has been consistent at about $55 per month. Since I also have the Motosat, I only use it for back up or when away from the coach.
It has been very satisfactory. As you can see my plan is the bare bones access with no additional fee for any megabyte plan. In one of my earlier posts on this subject I mentioned that there were some initial start up glitches, mainly being passed around from tech to tech before getting one who was up to speed. It was smooth sailing after that. I suggest you, at least initially, try speaking with a different customer support person. Also, check the verizon web site forl the various plans for mobile office. As I recall, it was discussed there. I think you will find that minutes are minutes whether used for talking or mobile office.

I just checked the Verizon Web Site.
1. Click on plans.
2. Go to Internet/Data Plans.
3. Look at National Access (second one down). It states that "These calling plans offer airtime allowance for voice and data sessions."
4. Click on getting tne plan. The fine print at the bottom of the page states in part: "Monthly airtime allowance can be used for National Access and quick 2 net...."

I use Sprint for internet access at my laptop, but as I understand it, Verizon has a MOU (Minutes of Use) option that allows drawing your on-line usage minutes from the monthly minutes that you would normally pay for voice communications.

I have the Verizon America's Choice Plan with National Access (was Express Network) with Minutes of Use (MOU). I can get access to both the conventional dial up spped (14.4) and the faster National Access speed. The faster access is only available in the areas having the NA digital signal. The slower speed is available anywhere Verizon has service.
I have the 400 minute plan and there are no additional charges as long as I do not exceed my alloted 400 minutes during peak times.
The beauty of it is that on the free nights and weekends, you do not expend any minutes.
This set up works for me but may not be for everyone. I would continue to call or visit a Verizon store until you find someone more knowledgable. When researching the matter there seemed to be half the representatives I tralked to cluless of the details. Also as mention by someone else, the other YahooGroups on cell phone connections offers some excellent discussion.

When I am in the states, I use ExpressNet with my MOU. Works great and so much faster than the "regular" service. Call and request promotion "1XMOU". Just wish I could use it in Mexico! Telephone service here is really BAD!!! I was on the group mentioned below for a long time. Very knowledgeable bunch of people.
