Hi All,
I need to pick your community brain. Since we've bought the coach it has been inside stored and plugged in. Now, we have brought the coach home to San Diego and the only secure storage I can find for the next 45 days is outside covered and it does not have plug in support for the battery charger available. I will be able to check on the coach every few days. We have AGM Lifeline 8DL batteries that are about 18 months old and I want to care for them properly. So, my questions are;
1. How should I prepare the coach for storage this way?
2. Should I turn off the inverter and leave the charger on and set the generator to auto start?
3. Should I just shut down the inverter and battery charger in the silverleaf, then turn off the battery switches?
4. Should I set the generator to exercise twice a week for an hour or longer and this will keep the batteries charged?
5. Or???
Thanks so much for your guidance and wisdom, Mike

My way may not be the best but it works. First I have 1000 amps of lifeline( 500 amps usable with out harm). I turn off house batteries at saleman switch. Then I turn off inverter at the generator controles and bus batteries in the charger bay. then every month i run the generator for 2 hours ( gen people say this must be done to keep the generator in proper shape anyway). You kill two birds with one stone with out spending one extra dime.

I follow Tom's routine to a 'T.' Works for me as well. Also I still use good old wet cell batteries (2 ).

That's how I did it too, every 3rd week to a month. Also took it on short over the weekend trips, now and then. This kept things up pretty good.
