I am replacing the headlight and was looking to find the best caulking to use to secure them.

I used black polyurethane sealant. I believe I got it at Home Depot. It took awhile to cure because of the thickness but held tight after 24 hours.

Use Sikaflex black sealant. In a caulk style tube.
Most big box stores don't carry it. But it's the best Just did my headlamps.
Caulk then tape in place. Be sure alignment not too far off.

I used black polyurethane sealant and I have the first headlight in and it set up in about 24/36 hours. Rock solid. I will now start the second light.

Hi..I thought the second headlight replacement would be a piece of cake...Wrong! I removed the headlight and now I can't get the OLD or NEW headlight in the opening..I had to give up after about 15 attempts today..Anyone have any ideas?

These are a few pics of the headlights. Before McGuires headlight cleaning kit:After the cleaning, looks pretty good!Back to looking pretty poor, 2 years and waxing a 3/4 times a year.I gave them a good cleaning again and was not happy with the outcome. So, I drive my Magna into the local Sam's Club, give them $29.00 and they make my headlights look like new. Seems like a pretty good deal to me..... It did take 20 minutes however.... ;-)

Steve, Yes, it is a good deal. In addition the re-finish job offers a 5 Year Warranty. The headlights on my toad were done by Sam's 3 years ago and it was exposed to desert sun full time. It began to show discoloration so, I took it in last week. Sam's honored the warranty. They re-finished no-charge with no question.
If you have it done I suggest that you keep your receipt as I was told that their internal records only go back two years.

We have a Sams near us in MASS but they never heard of cleaning the headlights..When I did clean them they lasted a couple of years with polish in between..

as long as mine lasted with that high priced "lens restorer" .There is a plastic cleaner for about 5.00 that works as well. You just have to apply it a little more often. It is called Meguiars PlastX .

A little off topic but this has keep our headlights clear for ten years. While preparing for a trip to Alaska we applied a plastic protective film to the lights on our tow vehicle. At the same time I polished and applied the same film to our coach headlights. A 2000 Allure with the plastic Ford headlights. One of them even had a small crack in it. Ten years later they are still clear! Apparently the covering has kept them from oxidizing.
We ordered them from EPEL although I am sure there are other companies as well. Their product is very thick and offers good protection and has not peeled at all.

I checked out your XPEL company and I ordered them for my Coach, 2003 Lincoln Navigator lights . Since they are new headlights I figured I would try and keep them new..THANKS!
