I'm putting a 12 volt battery charger on my CRV and was wondering if anyone could tell me where they tapped into the coaches 12 volt system to supply power to the charger.

Question two is should antifreeze be visible in the sight gauge when the engine is cold?

Craig

I would find a wire that is hot when the key is on and yes there should be coolant in the glass when cold, how would you know if low to start. Mine has a long sight glass about 10" long.

Not sure you need an additional charger to charge your CRV. Run a wire from your coach battery to the CRV battery and it will charge your CRV as you drive. Let the coach alternator do the charging...

One of the wires in the round trailer electrical plug next to the trailer hitch receiver is a 12v charging wire. I would have expected that would have been hooked up to charge your toad battery when doing the electrical umbilical to the toad. Are you certain this isn't the case?

Re: coolant, I believe you should see the sight glass at least half full even with a cold engine...

I checked mine for the same reason and its not hooked up. Only the turn signals and brakes are active.

I ran a wire from the battery to the trailer connector. I used a circuit breaker installed about six or eight inches from where it is connected to the battery. On the towed vehicle, I ran a wire from the connector to the battery. Also with a circuit breaker near the battery. If I remember correctly I used 12 gauge wire and two 20a auto reset breakers.
