A lot depends on what qualities you are looking for. Do you wish to retain the same size, 12R ? Do you want a highway tire with their smoother ride or maybe a regional tire for increased protection from hazards? Do you want a tire with a very heavy cord structure or maybe one more forgiving. Are you very nit picky about tire maintenance and protection or less so? There are a lot of factors. I prefer to pick a dealer for service rather than price is most important to me. That sad I don't believe in throwing money away either.
I would never again have Toyo tires. Just two many failures. They never caused any damage or injury, but plenty of lost sleep. Friends have had as many issues with 670 Goodyears. Michelin and Continental have been hit or miss, but with Continental really standing behind their product while maybe not so much by Michelin. Michelin has always given the best ride and lowest noise. I have not owned other brands but have heard all sorts of stories. The one story I will pass on is if your coach is a model from the 90's stay away from the 275R 70 size tire. They were undersized for the application be they a Toyo , Michelin, etc. After having multiple tires being replaced multiple times, I went with 275R80 . The ride improved, handling was better, and fear of failure from over load conquered.
In case your curious I have Michelin on the front and Continentals on the rear. Why the mix?. Well one Continental went out of round and the deal er only had Firestone and Michelin in stock. So I went back to Michelin. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

Michelin XDN2, R-12 on the drive wheels. Gives you the extra traction when you need it. You won't regret it.

Hi All,
Seven year tire life is a myth.
It all depends on how you shield your tires from the sun, tire pressure used, and max speed.
Twelve years+ if you do the following.
1, Tire covers used when stopped during the day and when stored. You will never see cracks.
2. Max pressures e.i. 120 psi front and 110psi read.
3. Never exceed 55 psi to keep tires cool, drive at night is a must if the day temperature is above 90 deg F.
I carry a spare tire that is 18 years old.
I stick with Toyos as they were engineered to the suspension system.

The FMCA Michelin deal is so good, I don't know why you would not use it...12Rs cost more than 315s.but 315s would not clear. Iam running 315 on steering and 12Rs on the rear. Bob 6028 '02 Magna

Going down in the morning to get a set of Michelins on my 2000 magna. My front is getting 315's as the stock wheels are larger than the drive wheels that came with 12R's. The new compound that is used on tires at Michelin with better milage, softer ride etc. is not available in 12r's so I went to 295/80R/22.5 to match the 315's in compound makeup. My tire guy said it is the proper way to go. Can't use 315's in the rear as the wheels are too small. Stock wheels up front are larger on a Magna to handle 315's....

Sticking with Toyo's was a good idea when your coach was newer but since Toyo's are now made in China, not Japan, they are much less in quality and prone to short life. Beware of Chinese Toyo's....

Hi, Steve. I have a 2000 magna with 12r on drive and need to replace soon, would be nice to hear how they ride over the 12r, Charles 5886 magna

My best luck has been Michelin.
Join FMCA and you will get a super deal on them. The tires ship to your dealer, if they are part of the program.
Someone commented that tires are good for 12 years, I would NEVER run a tire that long. The smog in California would never allow a tire to last that long.
Had a front blowout at 6 years on a Toyo.
Five is max time for me, not worth the risk and damage.

Very interesting, as I bought my rig last summer and got 6 new Toyos in the deal. Is there a way to tell the Japanese vs the Chinese manufactured tires?

Read the side of the tire

There are 2 ways to know the country of origin. 1. If you read the DOT, the first two digits of the code, after "DOT", is the plant code. You can find the list of plants here: All the D.O.T. Tire Plant Codes 2. Tires should have written on them the country of origin, like, "Made in the United States", "Made in Canada".... however the writing is often quite small and may be hard to find. While it has to be on the sidewall, the location will vary from tire manufacturer to tire manufacturer. All the D.O.T. Of course! Duh...
Interesting: my new Toyo tires, bought in Aug 16, were manufactured in Aug '15, in Japan, not in China. Anybody know when they started making them in China?

Why don't you get over it and google Toyo they are a new tire Much cheaper than a Michelin and will give you a good ride and will last as long the rest of the tires out there Denny Parker

Had my front Toyo's put on at Les Schwab in Junction City in April, 2016. They were made in China. They are the 170z that replaced m111. I called Toyo and the rep said they were making that same tire in both locations, Japan, and China.

Hi Folks,
Remember, the new Toyo has a lower speed rating.
As I drive 55 mph and keep my tires covered at all stops and destinations, I don't have a problem. Beware if you like to drive faster.

I have nothing to add to the tire conversation YET... but I just want to say thank you to everyone who talks about tires. I love the whole debate. I bought my first RV and haven't even driven it yet. .. it's sitting in Florida waiting for me to pick it up. It has toyo tires on it, and I have 1-2 more seasons on the tires before I need to change them. I'm learning alot, and hope to be well educated before I need 8 new tires... OUCH!!!!!
