I just replaced my Dometic fridge with a Samsung RF18. The fridge works when the coach is plugged into 50 amp or when the generator is running.
I turned on the inverter and no power to the outlet for the fridge. I used the same outlet that the Dometic was plugged into. Am I missing an easy fix or did this outlet never work with the inverter? I just always used the propane when not plugged into electric.
Any help is appreciated.

Did the Dometic have an icemaker? If so there will be 2 separate plugs behind the fridge. The one for icemaker is powered by inverter the other for the fridge is not.
The original fridge would duck the batteries dry in a few hours on a warm day.

I would like to see pics. That plug doesn't run from the inverter. That is because when boon docking the fridge runs on propane not inverter thus saving battery.

Move the plug to the other outlet on the duplex. One receptacle is thru the inverter and the other one is not. The pne thru the inverter is for the ice maker on the old frig.

Donnie,
If your don't have a double duplex plug you will have to move your wiring from the house breaker box to the inverter breaker box.
I had to do that when I installed my FR18 Samsung into my coach, 2005 Inspire. This is an easy change.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE POWEER OFF BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING THE BREAKER BOXES.
You may have to add a slimline breaker in your inverter breaker box if you don't have an open space.
If you need more information I would be happy to talk to your.

Donnie,
I did not have an inverter powered refer outlet on our '01 Intrigue, 11238. I was able to "fish" a romex cable from a receptacle on the cabinet bottom just forward of the front edge of the refer wall to power the icemaker when dry camping.

That explains that, thanks. I don't know how to post pictures on this site. If you text me I will take pictures and send them to you.

Ron,
Can you run the entire Samsung FR-18 off of an appropriate circuit served by the inverter. I do not know the draw but is it acceptable in most circumstances.

Ok as luck would have it it's a no go on the double duplex plug. Ron when you have time, no hurry could you call me. If it's something I can do then I will do it, it not I have an electrician friend back in Phoenix. We are currently in Indio and headed back to Phoenix on Thursday.
Thanks

I'm sure this is "overkill" but the folks who installed my Samsung advised me to have a separate small inverter serving only the fridge. Not sorry I took that advice because the inverter was only $250 and I have not had any issue for four years.

The wanted to make sure you had a pure sine wave inverter instead of others with a highly distorted wave form that could cause issues. TWI 2004 INTRIGUE 11731

Thanks David,
Was the installation with a separate and new/different battery or was it an additional inverter on the same system.

Better be separate or the charge controllers in the units will battle each other.
