On our 2000 Magna #5734 I'm trying to find any wiring to support an electronic brake controller. If you buy a new pickup, all the wiring is in place all you need is to install the controller. We have the regular RV trailer plug back at the hitch and the brake controller lead has a wire attached to it. But I can't find anything in the schematics that indicate a power lead from where the brake controller would be installed up front to that connector in back.

Hi, Fred. We also have a 2000 magna 5886 and i will be adding a break controller also so we can pull a trailer with elect breaks. If you could keep me posted on what you did and where was the wire at dash area wire number, and at hitch location, thanks Charles

There are spare wires that run from the dash to the front run bay and from the FRB to the rear of the coach. My wire list shows them as
#4 12G Red
#5 16G Yellow
$6 16G Black
#7 16G Orange
Actually locating the wires may be difficult but on my coach, the wires in the engine compartment hang down below the engine near the rear of the coach.

Charles, no I have not gotten to that yet. I bought the controller assuming that I'll be able to find the wires based on Pete's description. I'm in the middle of replacing the Charge Air Cooler and expect to complete that project this weekend. Then I'll check out the wiring. For sure I'll report back.

Charles,
I'm interested in hearing about the aluminum plate. If you are willing to write it up, I would certainly appreciate it.
Thanks,

OK I have the Brake Controller installed and all tested out.. Works great... There are indeed four wires terminated on a terminal strip in the dash that run through the front run box and appear in the engine bay on the right side. #4 #5 #6 #7. And #4 has 12 volts on it and is fed from a fused location in the front run box. Very convenient. THanks for the hint on That. The manual/schematic/wiring legend was valuable in that quest as well. Everything is labeled and you can cross reference to the wiring legend to figure out what things are. #52 for instance is yellow and it feeds the brake light circuits.

Chiming in... I have a "Kwikload" flatbed tilt trailer. 24', weighs 1350#. Ideal for low ground clearance cars like Corvette. Big, permanent FG wrap-around shield. Somewhat costly. Worth it
