I have two rooftop AC units and they are both Duo-Therm model 630516.321. The rear unit is very quiet but the front one make much more noise. The fan noise is about the same but if I had to guess I'd say the compressor on the front one is the source of the noise.
Anyone else have this experience?

Probably a bushing has failed. open the unit and look for the source of the noise.

Or a critter has built a nest in the blower wheel, causing imbalance, vibration, and noise. Mud wasps in particular seem to find this a homey place. Be sure to thoroughly check both sides of the blower wheels, the little beasts are sneaky.

Mikee it sounds like the compressor to me. Jim
