HI gang. I am looking to have my coach serviced for next season. House and chassis. This is my first season of rving. I love it!!
Here is my dilemma. I live in new Jersey and I can't find a facility to service both. Some flat out don't work on diesel coaches. I need to be in Florida mid November for business, and I thought of driving coach down, have it serviced, and find a storage place to avoid New Jersey winter, as my carport set up did not get done this year.
My search led me to lazy days, in tampa being they are all in one, but researching them, I'm a little nervous. Basically I have no idea who I can trust, no matter where in the country they are. Of course I would love to come out west to junction city, but 2500+ miles later, it's not an option at this point. Can anyone share any thoughts please?

P.'s the former owner took good care of coach, and it doesn't need any large items, but it is ready for annual service. IMHO

Here's my opinion for what it's worth to you.
DO NOT drive your coach all the way to Florida just to get it serviced.
Not sure what engine is in your coach but if it is a CAT or CUMMINS, find you closest dealer and get it serviced there.
Find an RV dealer.....any kind...and make an appointment to get your coach winterized.
Find a storage unit or buy a cover for it if you don't want it sitting outside during the winter.
Don't SWEAT the small stuff. It's all good.
DO NOT GO TO LAZY DAYS UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY THRU THE NOSE FOR EVERYTHING THEY DO FOR YOU. 8)

I took mine to a local Cummings facility. They do everything there. I'm sure there is one in NJ. Look them up on line.

The response from David and Jean Lawrence who suggested that you find local folks to work on your coach is a good piece of advice. We have been very happy with having found ten years ago a wonderful RV repair fellow who works on the coach and not the engine. We have that fellow here in MN and one in Traverse City, MI. The MI repairman is part of a four man team who spend the winter in Fort Myers area too.
In addition, we have an I-State truck selling and repair facility near us that we use for all of our engine work. We had one of the best chassis repair, alignment and tire and air bags person in the northern Twin Cities of MN, but he's retired. We don't know where to go next for all of that. Lee Z. appreciated this fellow too.
Also, we have had some work done at LazyDays at first because we bought the coach there and were part of the Crown Club so got to stay in the lovely Crown Club campground and felt the service was first rate. We aren't sure of course, but we have not thought each time we were there for repairs that we paid much more than other places. We also had them replace 3-4 years ago our front one piece windshield as well as that smaller window by the rider and clean the driver's window. Insurance paid for the big window and small window and we paid for the cleaning of the other one. That price seemed about right too. We know there have been many folks who feel they are overcharged there too, but we don't think we have been. Who knows!

Well, I found a facility that services chassis and checks the house. (they are not a country coach specialty place) The costs are reasonable. The shop is 30 minutes from home, so that is a plus. I really had a bad feeling about the lazy days. (not trying to start any trouble with those of you that love them). Thanks for the advice and the nudge to look locally.

Dave, any Speedco on the highway will do the job for you. None near you in NJ but the is one on IH 95 in NC on the way to FL.

Fountain RV in Lakeland is our "go to" CC shop on the East Coast. Their "CC Guru" Butch Williams has now left, but his replacement AJ is an excellent tech who also knows CC's inside and out. I would still go to them. I've been to LazyDays in Tampa. They've got an amazing facility, but their service shop has literally dozens of bays and a huge staff which services anything that rolls. If you're into that, go for it. But I want to talk directly to MY mechanic about the service on MY Coach, and you just can't do that at a factory like Lazy Days...
On a related note: I was once advised not to simply tell ANY shop to just "do everything that's needed". And I've since learned how true that is. It's up to YOU, the owner to know enough about your Coach to know what's needed, and to tell the shop what you want done. If you just tell them "do an annual" I'd bet money you won't get the air dryer serviced, or the PTO, and you'll have no idea whether they might have changed out coolant, hydraulic fluid, tranny fluid, or even checked any of those. If you want to go down the road knowing your Coach is truly "ready to roll", you'd better find out what that entails.

And Brunswick Georgia. I have used Speedo for our annual LOF/generator service since 2004. They just raised the penny service real high so that might be semi-annual for me now. And that will be mostly because of the fuel filter. Hate changing that thing.

I have use various Speedco for years, and probably still will. Last time was a few months ago at the one in Duncan, SC. They have raised their prices substantially. Last time for coach and Onan LOF was around $450.00. The lady at the counter told me of the increase when I walked on. About $100.00 higher than previous service.

They are not the cheapest but know what they are doing & are trust worthy & reliable. I highly recommend them. Country Classic Auto Body LLCI did a nice job for me installing a new sofa bed & inspecting my rv for any water leaks. They do body work & remodeling. I did like dealing with them.
I have not found a place I can recommend for regular service & repairs on my coach (2004 Inspire 360).
