Hi Gang;

Well, just to follow up on this post. (It's been awhile) I did end up going to Daniel Stern Lighting. I ordered all the parts they recommended, which included new light housings, bulbs and relay kits. My mechanic did do the install, and I have to say, my lights are very satisfactory on the Coach. They are not the blinding HID lights, but again, I am quite satisfied with them. I plan on driving at night only with extreme necessity, but it's nice to know, that I will be seeing much better than I was. Thanks for all the contributions.

I know many of you have issues with aging headlights. That said I am considering replacing mine. Here are my questions: Halogen vs LED?; do it your self vs pay the pro? I just learned that mine are the 1996 Ford Bronco. I found a supplier offering two complete units with LED bulbs. $ 133.00.

The only vehicle I have with LED headlights is my 2017 Jeep Wrangler, and they are by far the best headlights I'be ever had, including halogen driving lights on my van.
Waiting to install additional LED lights which will increase distance 2 to 3 times for back country driving.
I vote for a GOOD LED light. Need to check specs for light output and pattern.

Hey Rich,

As for headlights, I found a new set of Ford OEM still in the box headlight housings on Amazon and put the best bulbs in them I could find. Pretty good improvement there.
The biggest improvement came from replacing the original 4x6 sealed driving lights and fog lights that are below the headlights. Rigid makes street legal/SAE clear lens fogs, rectangular, that you can run with headlight low beams on and their rectangular driving lights are bright as heck and will come on with high beams when toggle switch on transmission control panel is on.
I posted pics and details on this site when i did the conversion. Literally a wire splice and mild mounting bracket mod. With this mod you own the night.
Rigids were pricey but results are consistent with price. I'm sure there are cheaper brands of LEDs that could be usedto replace the 4x6 lights. If memory serves the Rigid fogs were about 2500 lumen and drives about 5500 lumen.
Contact me if you have questions.

Best option IMO is do a true projection Hid. You can have get new housings w Projection hids ready to install.

I've tried the major LED headlight company's headlights on my JK and they do not compare with Hids.

I've also have them on my OBS and Excursion trucks.

Added benefit is if you plan on driving in snow the Hids will not build up snow on the Lens like LED's.

Since we are on this thread...and not to take away from the starter of it, I have seen many different posts about buying new headlights for coaches. They all seem to be some OEM for a car or pickup. My question is: How do you know what lights come on a specific coach? Is there a list somewhere or is it in my owners manual?
Thanks
Shaun

Shaun, your headlight will have a DOT code molded into the lens. Google that and you should find some replacement options.

I replaced my old bulbs with LEDs and it gives out way more light. Ordered off Amazon. I did have to modify the cap on the back by cutting it in half and siliconed a piece of pvc to extend it about 3in

Those won't work for a 1999 Intrigue. Not without quite a bit of modification. The 1999 Intrigue headlights are from a Ford Bronco, F150 1987-1991. 1992 Changed quite a bit.

Speaking of headlights.... does anyone happen to know what a 2000 Magna has for headlights? Are they from some vehicle I can research to figure out what the bulb replacement might be? Thanks in advance,

For my 2002, I believe they are a Hella E39 for a 1998-2000 (https://www.countrycoachforums.com/) BMW.
