In an effort to get the steps lower to the ground when camping (older dog), instead of using auto level, I have been dumping all the air and then manually leveling the coach. Is that hard on the air bags? I was thinking it may put the air bags in a more extreme "empty" position which may worsen any little cracks... I can get the coach quite a bit lower with this method, but don't want to accelerate age related air bag failure.

The airbags should be able to handle whatever you ask of them.

Now Greg - Don't go calling yourself 'an old dog' - you still get around pretty good:)!
Different leveling systems models between different years and models. Going from memory, I found that the Dumping>Auto Level would usually be within ~1" difference (Higher) from what I'd get by Dumping>Manual Leveling.
What kind of height differences are you seeing with your coach/leveling model?
Best to you, and all,

Yeah, the dog likes to sit outside till 9pm in 30F weather, and pretty stove up trying to get up that first step. She won't come in early though. I have seen her lie in snow in the evening, happy as a clam Quite a change from Socal :D
I would say the height diff between Auto and Dump/manual is 1-2" depending on the grade. It's ok, I am going to dump away, no harm done :)
