Google news stated that there were 30 to 40 coaches in the building that was on fire. Video showed them pulling a Country Coach out of one of the doors! Fire started about 3am. If nothing else, there's going to be a lot of smoke damage to the coaches. All the garage door openings have heavy black soot around them .

Sad to see. My best to those at Premier.
Suspect a mix of mostly coaches for sale, and the balance of course in for service.
Good thoughts flowing their way, and to owner's of lost coaches. Glad no one was hurt!!

Fire was in the storage area. There was a mix of coaches, boats and other rv's stored there. I am told the service area was not damaged and the sales area is also intact. There are many pictures and videos available if you google Premier RV in Junction City. Best video is attached to the article in the Register Guard.

My coach is/was stared at Premier. I haven't been able to contact anyone yet, so am planning to drive up to Junction City to figure out where to go from here. Apparently 6-7 coaches were burned to the ground and many (all?) of the others had smoke and water damage. I've been in the facility...it is adjacent to the main building where the for sale inventory is stored and the service is done (the old Magna/Intrigue assembly building). Gary Obermire has been quoted as saying that early estimates of damage are $10-$15M and that they are already together with their insurance people. And, no one will lose their job, since the service/sales part is still operational.
Really a mess! And, I feel for Gary, Louie, and Susan who have built a very flourishing business. But, they will get through it! If I get there today (about 200 miles), I'll try to find a wifi connection and give an update. Or, peck out a message on my phone.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm not one of the unlucky 6-7...more when I have it.

Our coach was in storage there also. We had planned on picking it up the Monday after Thanksgiving and taking it to our barn in Coos Bay. One of the videos on U-Tube showed, what looked to be our coach, being backed up so we are assuming it runs. Could only see the passenger side but we are hopeful. Waiting to hear.

David Glen, I hope that the new you receive is as good as the news we got today. Our coach was on the opposite side of the building from where the fire started and has only smoke damage, which with effort and elbow grease, can be remedied. We are feeling very lucky. Gary did say that the fire suppression system in the building and the heroic efforts of the firemen from the local departments saved this thing from being a complete disaster. Feeling very thankful.

Update from Junction City:
My coach was lucky and suffered mostly smoke stains on the exterior and smoke odor damage on the interior. I was parked a bit away from the source of the fire (where there are now 6-7 shells of what used to be coaches), but apparently I was below an office of some sort which burned. So I have some heat damage to my roof, i.e. melted a/c covers, melted anemometers, and some discoloration. Gary feels that there will be no problem with the roof...he's never seen fiberglass warp or melt.
All of the coaches are lined up along the side of the building. There are still a few in the building that appear to be drivable, but won't start. Probably battery problems. The coaches along the building are quite soot streaked and presumably all have smoke damage to the interiors. I am in touch with a restoration outfit who was on the premises when I go there. They feel that the smoke smell can be removed and hopefully will give me a bid tomorrow. My primary insurance adjuster will b there later this week and we'll see what the damage is. Unfortunately, some of the lower end coaches that were stored there had enough smoke damage and soot to make them unsalvageable. I have a hunch that the cost of repairs to my coach will be significant, but not sufficient to total it. I drove it out of the line-up (where Louie had put it this morning)to the end of the repair building, and it started and ran fine. But, smells like hell, and looks like hell. Louie and Gary's crew started power washing it the is afternoon and hope to finish tomorrow morning. Clearly, it will need a complete detail job when that is completer, but the roof repairs have to be done first.
Those of us who had coaches there will have to find storage facilities elsewhere and, unfortunately, indoor spaces are pretty scarce in Oregon. The building was insured and will be rebuilt, but I don't know about on going storage. A previous post mentioned the sprinkler system...without it, the entire property (including all buildings and coaches) probably would have gone up. We are all very lucky.
Unfortunately, I don't have my USB with me, so I can't transfer pictures from my phone to the computer. But, I can send individual pix if anyone wants them, or wait a couple of days and send a batch.
If any of you (other than the Brandts) have coaches there, you've probably already heard from Gary or Louie who have been fantastic. I would advise getting there yourself asap to begin handling the details. Smoke and soot are not good long term.
If any of you have specific questions, let me know and I will try to answer them.

To all that had coaches involved in the fire. I've spent the last 45 years in the fire and water damage restoration business. If I can be of any assistance to any of you as you go through this feel free to call or text me. I know they look awful but it is cleanable and not terribly difficult, just time consuming. As long as it is not scorched. See my cell below.

David you are so right. It doesn't take long for soot and smoke to begin etching everything it is on. It needs to be neutralized in the first 48 hrs to stop the damage. That doesn't mean everything has to be cleaned but should be wiped down with a soapy water solution, no need to rinse until it is cleaned. Do not wait for the insurance settlement that you like, if you want to save your coach get to neutralizing the damage immediately, it is you duty as a policy holder to do what you can to minimize damage.

Glenn;
I spent a fair amount of time today with two representatives from Belfor, an international/national restoration company. They are working with several of the owners and expect more. Gary was with us and we all concluded that this is going to be really tough because insurance companies really don't understand motorhomes very well (nor do restoration companies). I'm afraid that the task at hand is going to be pretty significant and the trick will be to get them to do as you suggest and do a basic clean-up as soon as possible...the question is whether the insurance pay for this and bets on the come that the bigger job is within reason. To clean all of the electronics, flat surfaces and everywhere else the soot has gotten could be significant.
It will basically come down to what the insurance company can negotiate with the restoration company. The exterior is less difficult to estimate and, in my case, Jim Cooley (service manager) and Gary Obermire will get that done pretty quickly. I'm back home now (couldn't do much more than cry by staying there) and will light a big fire under the insurance company tomorrow morning to try to get progress on the smoke situation.
To answer another question, I don't think there is a definitive cause of the fire, but all seem to be leaning toward it starting in a particular coach...probably an electrical problem connected with the charging system? But, with insurance companies all over the place, no one is saying too much for obvious reasons...each individual insurance company will try to subrogate an any direction possible.
Thanks for the info on the need for speed with the smoke/soot.

Thanks much for that info, Dave. And our condolences in advance for whatever loss you've suffered.
Much as I hate to say it, you might be better off if your rig has completely burned. Insurance covering a total loss is almost always less painful than dickering over cost of repairs, and repairing a fire/smoke damaged rig of the complexity of ours is a real nightmare. We bought our Allure from Susan a year ago, and are really sorry for their (and all of you owners in storage there) losses. Happy that the sales/repair shops weren't damaged, but we're very saddened that so many of the CC community are so severely impacted.
Look forward to hearing more details when you get up there.

I would contact ServiceMaster of Eugene. Truly fire and water damage professionals. Belfor is more of a commercial water damage restoration. I think that you would get the service you and your coach deserve. I'm very biased since I'm a ServiceMaster Company also. I know what kind of service we offer. Wish I wasn't so far away I would love to handle all those claims.

I was up there for three days last week dealing with my coach. At that point they did not have a definitive cause. It undoubtedly started in a particular coach, but I don't know which one. Probably one of the 7-8 hulks that remain in the remnants of the warehouse. I am sure that all of the insurance companies are awaiting an answer so that they can go after a particular company for liability issues.
A number of the coaches had been cleaned externally and were beginning to be detailed. Some had roof damage from the heat and some did not. All had smoke and soot on the inside and at least two restoration companies were working to clean the interiors. I signed a contract with Belfor, as did a number of others, and at least 4 coaches were in process when I left. I am encouraged that the interior will come out OK, though it is a very labor intensive process. In my coach, most of the exterior work will involve replacing things that were plastic on the roof and a couple of places that need to be sprayed because of discoloration from what drained down over the edges of the roof that they have been unable to buff out. Big charge for replacing the front 3M mask which is also discolored and will undoubtedly need painting when it is removed.
Haven't a guess yet what all of this is going to cost, but so far, my insurance have been co-operating (Allstate). Since insurance companies really don't understand how intricate a motorhome really is, they are relying on experts (Gary and Jim at Premier) and the restoration companies to guide them in the process. Lots of trust required on all sides!
Found other inside storage nearby, so that is also a relief. I expect to go back up in 2-3 weeks and will report on progress, but am happy to answer questions in the interim.
