I have a 2006 Magna with 2 inverters and an option to run Zone 1 A/C from the inverter. I never use that option, but was thinking if perhaps I could use it as a petsafe. I do not have the petsafe option which starts generator based on interior temp. I do have the AGS that will start generator based on low volts. So if I was running A/C from shore power, and then the shore power went off, and I had the inverter option selected, would the A/C keep running from inverter, and then house battery volts drop, and AGS starts generator? It is a swag to get a petsafe. The only fly in the ointment is, I think the coach engine must be running for the inverter option to work. Maybe I could bypass that safeguard?

So what do you guys think?

The Auto gen start function is a real problem with zantrac. The basic problem is zantrac forgot to check ac voltage from Shore power before starting the generator when selected for low battery voltage start or thermostat start commands. One way you can defeat this is install a relay off the Aqua Hot electric mode to disconnect the auto gen start feature when there is ac voltage.

Hi Greg
Are you sure you don't have the pet option?
When we bought or 07 Intrigue every time we turned on the #1 ac the generator started. No option on the silver leaf panel to change it so talked to Country Coach and they reprogrammed it

Yes Darrel, perhaps I do have it. I can't seem to turn it on in SilverLeaf though and have it stay... I will cal Mark at SilverLeaf, maybe he can help me reprogram it. I do have the Omniscope, so I can get pretty deep into the program. A bit scary to do without Mark on phone though. Sort of like changing the registry on a computer

No, the engine need not be running in order to use the inverter. The inverters work off your house batteries

On my 2006 Magna, the engine must be running for this option (running zone 1 A/C from inverter) to work. It is an interlock to keep from draining the house batteries to run the A/C, voltage gets too low, and then AGS can't start the generator. I think it is a silly option, never use it. If I want to run A/C going down the road, I just run the generator.
