I went to put out the slides and the lights wouldn't light up. I had noticed going down the road the last couple of days that the HWH light on the panel dash was lit up. I looked down and saw that the travel mode light was not lit up. It was still going down the road normally and I kept going and after a bit the travel mode light would come back on. Any way, back to the first sentence in this post. I released the park brake and then engaged it and then the slides light came on and I was able to put the slides out. I noticed today that the travel mode light was not lit up again so I reached down and just wiggled the park brake and the travel mode light came back on. Then when I stopped awhile ago I put one slide out without any problem. A couple of friends came by and we visited for 10 minutes or so and when I went back to put the rest of the slides out I was unsuccessful. I again engaged and released the park brake and then was successful in putting the rest of the slides out. Does this seem like a park brake going bad or connections somewhere? Any ideas?

Thanks.

The switch on the bottom of the park brake button.

Mike: I don't see a switch. Just 3 air lines connected to the brake. Would there be wires coming from this switch? Thanks for your help.

Dennis,
There should be a row of air/electric switches (3) in the front, left, compartment. I think you need the switch with Ckt. 28? One side of the switch has an air line, the front side has the wiring. Those switches lose ground or fail over time. Those switches are grounded via their case. When you pull out the parking brake, the slide circuit is completed. If there is a bad ground on that switch, your slides will not operate, and your parking brake light will not be on. You can back off the mounting nut, clean up the mounting area on all three switches, or replace the switches. This is from my questionable memory.

If is not located on the bottom of the PB valve, it will be in the charge line for the PB release line. It is most likely sticking. A fairly common issue.

There are brake switches, air activated, in your front run bay. Find the one with white wire #21. That is the park brake switch. Previous posts have pointed out that grounding that wire will make your coach believe the park brake is off. Perhaps that pressure switch is faulty.

I don't think CC changed the wire numbers but look at your wire number list to verify the wire number and identify the proper pressure switch.
