Anyone have insight or experience on this route?

I'm concerned about traffic & toll roads particularly. I have no experience with tollways.

We're leaving Houston today, and trying to stay behind the bad weather as it moves East. Any options on secondary roads? Things to do, places to visit or stay?

Thank you so much!

We're just now exiting Houston on the East. Just under 100 miles to Louisiana border.

So, good news. No tolls from here to East Coast? Any better roads, secondary are fine as long as we fit under overpasses!

Any special places to stop over? We'll be through Louisiana. Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South and finally North Carolina.

We have about 2 weeks to get to Jacksonvill, NC.

Thank you.
