This is for an 04 Allure, 31017, built Sept 2003. Believe it is a Type 42 step, from my searches.
I validated I was getting juice to the Power Window Motor that operates the steps, and even with a few 'love tap's' - it would not operate.
Removed it, and went to NAPA. Gent seen 30-40 mins, going up and down the stairs to the pars section with the motors. And found many that were dang close. But those that were dang close, had a thinner gear then the unit being replaced. And looking at the wear pattern of the old unit, the gear is engaged on the outside, higher/thicker, portion of the gear. So pretty sure the closest replacement motors gear would not make full, or perhaps minimal, contact with he step motor gear.
The gent did suggest I could go to their regional parts center, where they have more motors that he did not have in stock. But, asked if I could at least give him/them more info.
So, long winded way to asking, does anyone know the brand and perhaps model and part number of the Power Window Motor used in the Step 42 of around the 2003-2004 (And probably more years too.)?
I'll keep surfing and searching, but wanted to start asking now.
TIA, and best to all,
Smitty

A little after I posted this, I realized I should have just checked in with Kevin Waite.
I'd found this AM-Equipment number by seeing an Ebay add that had a picture with this part number (According to the E-Bay add, appropriate for my era Type 42 steps.) AM-E 210-1011.
Kevin let me know he'd recently sold the last one in his inventory, and that I'd get faster turnaround ordering it direct from AM-Equipment.
So tomorrow, that is what I'll do:)!
Best to all,
Smitty

Thanks Dan!
NAPA pulled about 14 motors down for us to compare, two were this era Ford windows. These matched very well, except the gear was about half as thick as the one on my existing motor. And the shafts were not compatible to swap over the old gear.
I ordered, and it shipped, the AM Equipment 210 - 1011 RH motor for $87.41 and free shipping. Got a notice of shipment about an hour ago...
Not positive this is the problem, but would have replaced the unit anyways, as the shaft has some play in it.
Best,
Smitty

Wanted to close the loop that yesterday I had time to put in the new motor from AM Equipment (210-1011, RH).
Cleaned and lubricated all of the moving pieces too.
All working well now.
Best to all,
