I need some helpful knowledge from the group. You might remember I recently posted that we are selling our 40-foot 2006 Intrigue Elation. There is a couple who live in another state who have expressed an interest in buying it. They have a 43-foot garage and want to know if this coach will fit before they make the trip to visit it. Since it is difficult to accurately measure our coach, does anyone know the actual length of it including mirrors? Is this coach 40 feet plus 10 inches as Country Coach often did? Do the mirrors collapse or move? We have no ladder on the back so that isn't a length issue. The sheet on the back of the bathroom cupboard door says 40 feet. But, really, how long is this coach? Anyone?

I have had an 05 Intrigue
And it fit just fine in my
43.5 foot garage.
Just be sure the garage
is 43 foot on the inside.
My current coach is a
42 foot Magna, which is
43.5 on the outside.
The mirrors will swing in
If you loosen the nut on the
arms.

Hi Shirley,
Our coach is about the same footprint. The mirrors are more of a width issue than length. The 40 ft. 10 in. number is pretty accurate except for the tow bar, which goes back more than the ladder, I think. With that on you're adding almost a good foot or so.
Taking off the tow bar is a pain but should make it fit.

My 42 ft Affinity is 43 ft bumper to bumper, so I could add more for the mirrors?

Our "40 foot" Allure is 39' 10" bumper-to-bumper. Adding a bit for the ladder and about a foot for the mirrors, it should still fit inside 43'. BUT: the only way you can be certain is to measure yours. Drop a plumb bob (just a piece of string with a weight on it) from the exteme point at either end, mark that on the pavement, then measure between the marks.
I'll be interested to know what it turns out to be...
