Was reading and following a question on the site about adding a fuel additive to boost performance and clean injectors on our coaches.

I believe my coach has a 140 gal capacity for fuel.

While researching different brands that some here are using, I have a question.

The size of the container that can be purchased, is either greatly less than my fuel tank or completely greater
than my tank.

for those that use it, how do u determine how much to put in. one size says it will be sufficient for a 100 gal tank,
and the next size says it's for 250 gal tank. do you just put in half of the large size or is the 100 gal size sufficient?

Thanks,

Dave

Dave, buy the 250 gallon size and use 1/2. That should be the right concentration and get you 2 tanks of service. Also you never want to run the tank dry so 1/2 is more than enough. I usually go down 100 gallons before refilling. And you avoid getting air in the Gen set fuel line.

I use to by the 250 gallon size. I had 110 fuel tank. I use to fill up at about 75 gal. I bought a quart bottle of same additive. I'd use this container to measure out how much of the additive I need at each fuel up. I would get at least three fills from the 250 gallon size.

I use the Power Service Silver on every fill-up, it treats 250 gal. There is a clear see-thru scale on side of the bottle, so just estimate how much to add depending on how much fuel you are buying. So yes to your question, you don't need to use the full bottle. Save the balance for next fill-up.

Dave:

I use Lucas and it comes in 100 & 400 gallon bottles. The 100 gal bottle has an ounce scale on the side of the bottle for easy pouring. Doing the math, I use 3-4 oz of additive per 10 gallons of fuel. The Silverleaf indicates the number of gallons of fuel I've used and dictates the number of ounces of additive for each fill up.
