I have a couple of the screws fastening the door handle to the siding that have stripped. What have others found to be the best way to re-secure them, or any other items attached to the outside? Any success with the plastic molly's driven into the siding?

I'd be surprised if the usual plastic "wallboard" mollys would work in fiberglass. I think I'd first try using a sheet metal screw one size larger than the one that stripped. After that I'd probably call OMC or Premier RV (both in Junction City) for advice...

Their is a product called Mr. Grip that would work to repair these screw holes. You can google it and find out where ithey are available. I got them at Home Depot.

You might also be able to squeeze some glue into the hole, and then if a lightly larger screw will clear the handles hole, try screwing that in with the glue. Could hold well... then again, it also might not:)! (Yep, a wishy washy response!!).

Will follow thread, to see other's suggestions too.

Best of luck to you,

I have had great success with filling the holes and the inside cavity of the wall with a squirt of epoxy and then re-drilling the holes. Takes somewhere between 15 minutes and 60 minutes for the epoxy to setup and then re-drill the proper size bit for the screws.

Try taking a small round dowel, use gorilla glue to secure in the holes and reattach the handle with similar stainless steel screws. That how Kevin Waite told me how to fix the screws

I want to thank everyone for their input on this matter. Decided to give the Mr. Grips a try and they seem to have provided a secure grip on the screws, Got mine at ACE Hardware, enough product in the package to probable cover every screw in the coach and then some.
