Lets try something: Try shutting off the A/C with the last position on the "recirculation" mode. Thus shutting off the external air. With this as a requirement together with others required by the mfg. you should have no odor, huh?
Any odor in the car from external sources should be eliminated, right?
If the smell is coming from the tires, you shouldn't smell it , huh?
If the smell is coming from the engine compartment, it still should not be coming in the vehicle, right?
I've had three or four toads because of my previous involvement in the car business. With a Jeep, RX300, Durango and Honda, I've found an odor problem when I shut off the A/C while in the "recirculation" mode.
