What's the recommended product for cleaning and polishing the Alcoa aluminum wheels on a 2002 Intrigue coach? I seem to recall that there was a kind of polish that you should use and a kind that you should not use.
Thanks, Steve #11382

Mothers!! The best out there hands down!

I agree, Mothers paste. Also get a power-ball, also by Mothers and use in a drill motor.
Put rubber gloves on, it's a messy project!
I wipe the paste on the wheel, a little goes a long ways. Get after it with the power-ball and polish away. Once done wipe with a micro-fiber towel only.
After two wheels clean the power-ball, it will be black. All you need is water, again really messy as all the black will come off, not a project for the kitchen sink! The reason for this the ball picks up dirt and will start to scratch the wheels if not cleaned.
Once they are clean, I can touch up a wheel in 10-15 minutes.
If they have not been polished in a while, figure about 30 minutes a wheel.
Once complete, they will look awesome!
If you are in AZ, I know a guy that will polish a wheel for $15 each and does a great job!!

I agree with the mothers. It is messy. Gloves are a requirement. I did mine at least once a year. Looked new when I sold it 10 years later.

Shadazzle is better than Mother's paste.

Thanks everyone for your responses about cleaning and polishing aluminum wheels. I think I’ll try to take the easy route and see whether I can hook up with “Diamond Jim”.Steve, 2002 Intrigue, #11382 Sent from Mail for Windows 10

I just tell the DW that she must never touch the outside of the coach. And magically, she's outside and taking care of business. Only downside, is she's a bit slower at grabbing me another beer when I call for one:)!
(And, if any of you believe that story - well, I have this nice piece of land in Florida. And yes, the alligators are included....)
Our wheels will clean up some, and I've used Mothers, and a few others. I found Zephyr Pro 40 to be the easiest to use for heavy cleaning with the power ball. Unfortunately our coach came with rims that had been damaged by a combination of neglect and a bad attempt to deep clean from someone who did not know what they were doing. And, the passenger side dually clipped a curb or a rock, and has a chewed up rim in places (Safe to use, but it's scratched deeply on the edges.). So while I can, and do, spend time cleaning the rims - well, they are not show quality when complete:)!
Best to all, have fun, be safe,

So, does anyone have a recommendation for someone to hand wash and polish the coach or make solar screens for the headlights? We are in Casa Grande, AZ (halfway between Phoenix & Tucson)

I for one would like the contact info for the guy in AZ who polishes rims for $15. He will be my new best friend.

We just had Mobile Wash out of Naples, FL and Lake Toxaway, NC wash and polish our coach including engine, generator, and battery compartment rinse. They did an incredible job, and we added the wheels at $20 each. They dazzle now better than they ever did with DW busting her behind doing them each year, and she's become a true believer

Jeff, can I ask how much on the entire wash?
I like the engine wash and battery compartment thing. I would think i could find a mobile guy

Full wash was $125 including the aforementioned compartment rinses and the roof. Great attention to getting the exterior really clean. They used mineral-free rinse water so there's virtually no spotting afterward, then hand dried the whole coach.

Rafael Sanchez, General Wash, 520.560.6817, is at Arizona City, but will come to CG. He does good work. I think he charges $20 per wheel.
We are at Desert Gardens RV Park near Florence.
