Title: Very Hot Floor

I woke two days ago to discover the tile floor area between the shower/hall vanity (07 Intrigue Ovation) and into the toilet to be unusually hot. My IR thermometer read 102 for the toilet tile floor, 90s in that area hall tile. Man, it felt real hot. I have never felt the floor to be so hot. Over the years, warm to the touch is about the hottest I've experienced. The living room area felt cool like the heat was off. We had the floor TEMP setting at maximum (10), our usual cool night setting. I visually checked the bays underneath, which is above the drive axle, did not find anything unusual.

I turned the breakers for both front/rear floor heat units off for about 2 hours ago and temperatures are just about back to the same as the rest of the tile areas, around 70, which is close to room temperature.

Help! Please advise. Are there any tests I can do?

Lee,
Are you able to turn on both floor-heat controllers at the same time?
If so - does the controller on the right control the front area?
When the controller to the right is on, what does the controller to the left read?

I am having a similar problem that appears to be related to the incorrect / crossed connection of the
thermostat wires that sense floor temp and provide the shut off signal.

I will run that test. Thanks for your thoughts.

Sounds like the floor heat thermostat went bad. That happened to me on one of mine. I got a replacement on Amazon.

Sounds like a thermostat issue. That happened to me in our home floor heat and I swapped the thermostat with another in the house and that fixed it. Good luck!
