I have a chalky runoff from the roof on my 2003 CC Intrigue. I know it is a result of fading on the roof surface. I know that it is important to use the right solution on the roof to clear this up. Does anyone have a suggestion. Thanks Glen Coulter 2003 intrigue

We have a 2003 Intrigue and have become strong believers in coating the roof area that isn't painted. We used to use a floor sealant that lasted a couple of years, then needed reapplication. We found this coating over ten years ago, easily rolled it on after washing the roof and letting it dry, and just put another coat on two years ago. The point is, no more white runoff anywhere, and I believe the bright white color reduces heat build-up in the coach. The other benefit is, the roof is now quite safe to walk on without slipping. Good luck and safe travels.

I use Best rubber roof cleaner and sun protector. Has worked for me for the last several years. My 2005 CC is outside all year in Tucson AZ.

Jeff, are there specific instructions for an rv roof with the product ? I'm not a do it yourself kind of guy, and a job like this intimidates me a little.

Dave it's a very simple application. We bought a paint roller, tray, and extension handle plus a throw away paint brush to do the tight spots. Started at the front and worked our way to the rear where we had stationed a ladder. It gave good coverage the first time, but we bought two gallons and did a light second coat to make sure. 8 years of great performance, and we simply laid the new coat directly over the old one which was still intact. PS: I keep saying "we" because my DW actually did the painting. I was there to manage the project. 8)

Where do you get it?

I bought it at Lowe's. There may be other sources, so that's why I posted the photos of the product.

Jeff, when you washed the roof of the coach, was there any special solvents you needed to use? I found the product you recommended at home depot. It was a different looking can, but same product. Also, it was 5 gallons, so a bit overkill, but the price is not too bad, only 69.00 for 5 gallons. Here is the link.https://www.homedepot.com/p/Lanco-5-Gal-White-Seal-Elastomeric-Roof-Coating-RC865-2/100428975 ThanksDave 04 Intrigue Ovation 42’ 11793

Did you use a cleaner before the application. If so what? I'm getting ready to order the paint.

I paid $17.50/gal when I bought it, so you did well and can afford to apply generously. We did not tape between the white roof and the painted perimeter since we weren't concerned with a slight overlap.
We washed with dilute Simple Green solution and it seemed to work well. Rinsed thoroughly with water and let the roof dry. You probably already know to rinse all the white residue from that wash thoroughly off the sides of the coach as well. I look forward to your update.

I have everything to do my roof if it stops raining, this is what I'm going to be doing. Do it once and be done.
