I have not seen much discussion regarding this CC electronics. I will ask if anyone has disconnected theirs?? I did contact them a year ago asking them for any updates to my VMS 200 EL. I recall they laughed because it was too old. So the real question is Do I Need It To Operate the Coach?

Contact Silverleaf directly , they help you switch to their new updated system that you use with a tablet or laptop.

Check with Silver Leaf if you are going to use their VMSpc program and box that connects to your engine plug and see which version they recommend for your age of coach and engine. Although they are up to version 4.x which has some really nice features, it won't run with my 2000 Magna and CAT C10 engine. The latest version I can run is 3.0.

You can download the program for free and play with it to see how to set it up to display the items you want to see. But, the JIB box costs about $400. You will need a Windows computer. Many of us run a tablet or notebook with removable keyboard.

I use this set up every time I start the engine. Not sure I can travel without it since I see so many engine parameters, fuel mileage, etc.

I upgraded mine to a color 240 years ago. Souvenirs give me a substantial discount. I wouldn't be without one

Souvenirs is what happens when voice recognition fails to work properly! Supposed to say Silverleaf. Sorry.

I think I need more information from those who have had problems with Silverleaf. I found someone in their forum with the same issue as mine about five years back. When my engine shuts down, I do a scan and everything reads "0" ??? In 5 to 10 minutes the correct numbers appear and only then I can restart the engine and be on my way. I spoke with Art at Silverleaf about this and didn't get much help. Maybe an update would solve this problem?? I believe the lower Port in the right rear bay is the plugin for this purpose?

Just an update to share with the group. I unplugged my Silverleaf yesterday leaving Stowe, Vt for Montreal. Coach performed well for one hour and then shut down on I-89. So my problem is not the Silverleaf!

Richard,

I had a similar problem with my 2000 Magna C10. I took into Caterpillar and they hooked up their diagnostics. They determined it was, I believe it was called, the speed controller. This is a sensor that looks at the camshaft or crankshaft, to make sure the engine is turning over and then allows fuel to be sent to the engine. There are actually two of these sensors, primary and backup. If the primary is bad it shuts down the engine. When you shut off the key and restart it looks at both and then may choose the backup, which allows you to start the engine and continue. Caterpillar replaced both plus the fuel pressure valve. Since then no problems.
