Hey all,
Just wanted to pass on some useful information. My coach would turn over but not start. I had the buzzer sound up front with the screen on my Cat computer telling me data connection lost. The smaller indicator with normally my mileage on it, instead showed no oil pressure.
This leaded me to focus on oil type issues (xmitter, receiver, indicator etc..). Looked the motor over a bunch of times for broken wires etc. I looked right at the emergency shut down button but didn't touch it, feeling it could possibly be the problem since no one had touched it.
A bad battery connection the day before keep the engine from even trying to turn over. With that fixed the engine turns but wouldn't start.
I gave up frustrated with my inability to find the problem. I still felt it was something simple. Called the pros Cat first, no mobile team, moving on. Everyone I called either didn't work on RVs or was booked out for weeks(East Coast) Finally I found a mobile team that would respond within a few hours. Just for them to respond it was going to be $450, more if they connect the computer. Great guys, I was talking to one near the engine compartment we started talking about the kill switch. The other tech was hooking up the computer since they were having trouble figuring it out too. Well we decided to set and reset the kill switch. That fixed it and everything is working as it should, $620 bucks later. Since the tech had the computer hooked I had him check everything, good to go.
Lesson: Save a headache and add this to your list of things to check if you coach won't start. All the YouTube videos I watched never mention this one easy check.
P.S. while troubleshooting wires, I found a couple of the larger gauge wire crimps were bad or loose.

As a newby owner of a 2005 Inspire w/Cat, I didnt even know what or where the kill switch is. What do they look like and where do you find it?

My coach died one day while driving up Rt 75 in Georgia. Would not start. Had to get towed off the highway...on a Friday night.
By Tuesday, I was on my way again...having spent the weekend at a diesel repair facility...boondocking. Nice guys who eventually tracked the problem down to a fuse in the power wire to that emergency switch over the engine. The fuse was up front in bay under the driver. The emergency switch is reset by turning the knob.

It's in the engine bay normally big red button, at least for Cat engines.

You at least did not personally hit the button in.... While between trips over the holidays, I went over to get the part number off of a fan belt of our ISL. Stood on our Stirling Tow Bar, and leaned into the opening to get close enough to read the part number so I could order a replacement.
Flash forward 4-5 weeks later, about to take the coach out for a regular exercise, and it would turn over but not start. I did the same checking of all the things I could think of, no luck. Called Coachnet to get a tech out to help... And while I was waiting, I remembered I had climbed into the rear opening a bit to get the fan belt part number... So went back to look at the Emergency stop button - and yep, I'd bumped it into Stop position!
Was able to call Coachnet and the Mobile Mechanic had not yet be located, so no harm done...
So sir, you are not alone!

Really my biggest mistake was not taking full advantage of this group as a resource. I did ask a question about manual resetting fuses earlier, but failed to share this issue with the group. I think it was pride, in that I wanted to solve this on my own.
