Post by: Chris M on October 30, 2019, 03:14:45 pm
we have a 2005 country coach intrigue. last night the temperatures dropped to 20 degrees. Now we have water under the coach. looks like it is coming from bottom of heater through a screen. won't start now. anyone know what we might of done or how to repair?

If you didn't have the unit turned on it may have frozen the fresh water supply or loop.

Was it turned on?

Good chance this is the AH450 series Aqua Hot, you should be able to look a the model on the info inside of the medicine cabinet. You should have a control board down beside the unit. These will have some light indicators. Good chance it's going to be a Low Coolant type indicator. And I agree with George, more info would help. Was the unit on, even Electric vs Diesel? Or was it off when those cold temps hit? If you want to work on this yourself, then access the board that Greg pointed you to. If not, you could still as Roger for a reference to a AH Tech in your area. When you get ready to call, have the control board lighted indicators written down so you can go over them. Probably a Low Fluid indicator light will be on...

As just FYI. In temps expected to be mid 30's or below, and while on Shore Power, it's good to leave the Electric element on overnight. If you are using the Aqua/HydroHot for heating, then usually below mid 30's, keep both Electric and Diesel on. If one of these heat sources are not on, then the water bay loop will not be protected (These usually are independent of any inside zone temps settings. As the water bays usually have their own temp sensor and will come on to protect the water bays, as needed... (BUT, the Electric and or Diesel, must be on to provide the heat...).

If you want to share what your Control Board (The big black board with writing and indicator lights on it, next to, or near, your AH unit.) Indicator lights, and let us know if you see any obvious signs of leaks near the unit (Expansion Tank will probably be dry...) - we might be able to help you some too:)!

Best of luck to you,
Smitty

Curious to know the outcome of this... Also it is a test to see if the CC Forum is pushing emails to us... My coach is running great!

Just a FYI I kept my elect on all last winter here and never had a issue. We get down to below 10* often and can stay for days below 30*. My Bays were always in the 60's.
