Im trying to put an external step infront of my door and need to lock the steps in. How do I do that?

Laura, with steps in and door closed, turn off step switch. The steps will no longer deploy with door open.

That's interesting George.  My steps don't work that way.  Whether the step switch is off or on, when I open the door the steps extend.  I would probably have to pull a fuse to lock my steps in the closed position

Thank for your input but I'm thinking I will need to pull the fuse as I have tried lots of combinations to make it stay in and no success.

You've got to pull the fuse with the steps in.
