I need another 2 or 3 inches on my seat/lap belt. I ordered an extender from Amazon. It fit into the receptacle, but when I tried to hook in the lap belt metal, it would go in, but not latch. Any suggestions (besides lose weight)
Thanks
I’m going to presume that the other belt end latches and then that would mean there is a dimensional difference between the two belt ends. Could have been made by the metric system so It could be just a few thousands difference in the size of the hole, or the distance from the hole to the end of the buckle. I’d probably compare them, and then take a rotary file to it, till it worked.
I guess another option to consider would to build an extension for the other end of your belt where a single bolt fastens it to the seat frame. Maybe a short chunk of metal with 2 holes, or a cable strap with 2 eyes. A boat shop could make that. Make one for each side and double the extension.
