Title: Remote for power cord reel.....
Post by: Cooper1951 on March 28, 2020, 06:41:40 pm
I have noticed a mention of a remote control for the power cord reel on CC motorhomes. Does anyone have a picture of 1 you could post?
Thanks,
Mike

I got my remote from Glendinnig years ago. Might give then a call. I'll see if I can wiggle in to where I mounted it and see if there is info on it.

This is what mine looks like for an 08 coach. Pricey but company is still cranking them out. Coach came with two. I’m down to one. Remote Control Kit | Store - Glendinning Products (https://www.glendinningprods.com/store/Remote-Control-Kit-p23260903)

Roger is there a toggle switch also where the cord reels in on the outside?  In case loose last remote?

As an aside - I do not really appreciate the remote capabilities - [patio left - me sitting in my chair]  "I think I'll just pull my electric cord in a little as I sit here drinking my beer.....  Sure glad I got my remote in my pocket." ??

Sorry - just thinking. lol  I usually am holding the cord, wiping it down as I help it back into the reel, with the other hand on the toggle switch.

Ha. Yeah, remote is really not necessary.  I hardly ever use mine either.  The few occasions I have, it's been when I needed both hands to clean the cord or 'walking the cord' over mud, etc to the pedestal while keeping it off the ground.  Lately, I've gone to taking the weight off the motor by supporting the weight while rewinding.  Don't want to risk over stressing the motor...got enough stuff to fix!!
