Title: Engine Filters: Oil, Fuel & Water
Post by: Bob Clouse on November 20, 2020, 11:46:37 pm
Hi All,
Does anyone have a list of all the engine oil, fuel and air filters that are used on a 2000 CC Magna with C-10 385HP
I've looked through all the original paperwork and receipts but every receipt only shows the service center change the filters but no part numbers.

Thanks,
Bob

Isn't the part # on the filters?
I assume you have 2ea fuel filters, 1 is a big long one that's the secondary only use a CAT 2 micron filter.
Other Fuel filter is the primary, should have a water separator. I would use a 30 micron Racor.
Oil filter I would only use a CAT filter.

Hello,
Thanks for the response.  The numbers are on the filters that I can see such as the fuel, fuel/water seperator but I can't see the engine filter ot air filter without removal so I was hoping to pre-order all my filters so I don't have to wait until I go to change oil and find out my SMALL local parts house doesn't have what I need.
I just like to be prepared.

These are the filter numbers that Ring Power in Orlando use on my 2000 Magna with CAT C-10

Air Filter RS3518
I believe the following two are,
  Secondary fuel filter  1R-0749,
  Oil filter 1R-1808,
The Fuel/Water (primary fuel) Filter BF46083-0.
Coolant Filter  435-5142
Hydraulic filters, need 3, 57317

Thanks Pete, very helpful and much appreciated.
Have you changed your air blowoff filter and if so do you have a part# for it?

Thanks,
Bob

The air dryer cartridge is #109493.
The rebuilt dryer is #109477X.

I don't do my own chassis maintenance and these are the numbers on the Ring Power invoice.  Also, from talking with other owners that have done their own air dryer maintenance they use rebuilt units.  Apparently trying to replace the cartridge and get the o-rings installed properly is not the easiest thing to do while laying on your back under the coach.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for the air dryer cartridge info. so helpful.  I just talked to a knowledgeable source yesterday and they said it's important to change or service these because they can come apart internally and the desiccant can get into the air system and cause all sorts of issues.

I heard the same thing, do you have a parts house you order from online or local. Thanks

Hi Ben,

I try and buy local when ever I can to do my part in supporting local businesses but there are many times I buy online for things that the locals don't carry.  The local town in very small and only has 1 parts house (Napa Auto) but they can get most everything I just have to wait a day or 2.
The air dryer I will probably order online as I can get a new one for just a few bucks more than a refurbished one.  Then I will rebuild the one I take off so I'll have a spare ready to go for the next time.
