Title: isc 350 no start 99 Magna
Post by: pcsportrider on June 02, 2021, 11:34:33 pm
Hello, I have a no start issue with my 99 Magna ISC350 on a Dynomax chassis. I have been working on setting up the light connection to my trailer, and over a few hours I started and ran the engine a few times to get the air up on the brakes so I could test the brake lights.
The first time I started it I ran it for 20 minutes or so to get it up to operating temperature. The  2 subsequent times I ran it I shut it down after only 3 to 5 minutes. The next day I went to start the engine and everything operated as normal except on turning the ignition key to the cranking position I got nothing except a distant click. The starter did not turn at all.
Thinking the chassis batteries were down, I used the  boost switch, there was no change. I then started the generator and charged the batteries until they were fully charged. Still no change.
I  then took a look at the fuses in the bay below the driver's seat. I  did find one blown 20 amp fuse (#245)  on the row of fuses that are energized only when the ignition is on. I replaced the fuse and it held up with the ignition on but blew after attempting to start the motor. I'm not sure where to go from here. Any thoughts?
Thanks for your time,
Pat.
