Title: Trans or PTO problem? No power until it is warmed up
Post by: MrT on November 06, 2022, 07:20:11 am
Hi, I bought a 2008 CC inspire 360 with a cummins isl 425.

We put about 3000 miles on it, since last annual maint.

On startup, after engaging the transmission i have no power to move un in Fwd or Rev, I have to Rev it very hard to move.

If I wait and let the coach warm up for 15 to 1/2 hr, she takes off fine. The problem seems to be getting slowly worse over several trips.

Any thoughts / education about this problem before I take it in to Cummins. I am in Charleston SC for the winter, I need to find a shop I can trust down here.

Thank you in advance.

Check and see if transmission has thrown any codes.  https://cdn.mpparts.com/pdfs/Trans%20Codes.pdf

Sounds pretty normal for a cold diesel.  My pickup (7.3L) and CC Inspire (8.3 ISC) are both very sluggish if I try to move them up my driveway without a few minutes of warmup time.
