I have a 1996 Intrigue. My rear AC and 110 outlets are shutting off . After a little time they will all come back on. I have checked breakers , my 50 amp shore power , and everything else I can think of . I am new to RVing and my Intrigue is 30 years old. If anyone could give me an idea of where to start ? I would sure appreciate it. Allen
That can be several things, but going on the it fixes itself theme I'll give you some things to check
- Bad Shore power plug. These do go bad and weak or corroded blade contacts heat under load (especially during AC operation) and loose contact. Wiggle the cord while monitoring if AC cuts out or when it goes out.
- ATS contacts. Same as above, these do age out and need to be replaced. Pitted relay contacts cause drop-out under load.
- Main breaker (or subpanel breaker feeding L2 circuits). Again age is the enemy. An old breaker can weaken and then heating under load and momentarily opening. Especially likely if it recovers within 0-30 minutes consistently.
- Inverter thermal shutdown (if these outlets are on inverter): If AC loads are high, the inverter may hit over-temperature, shut off, then restart when cooled.
