Title: 1994 Concept with 8V92 Detroit
Post by: rayburne on August 05, 2025, 06:04:06 pm
So I was recently gifted a 1994 Concept with the 8V92 Detroit.  It's been sitting at a lake property for about 10 years and hasn't been cranked in 1 year.  It appears to be in great shape otherwise and has just shy of 100k miles.  From what little info is easily found online I feel like it's worth getting it back running (within reason).  The batteries are a year old so will need to be charged.  It wouldn't crank about a year ago because it appeared to be starved for fuel.  A mechanic bypassed the fuel system and put a pump up sprayer on the fuel rail and it started.  They put everything back together and it ran long enough for it to move 100 ft.  It started a few times after but now will not start again.  I feel it's a simple issue with old fuel/fuel filtration being clogged so doubt it's a major issue.  Otherwise I plan to put new tires on it and have a mechanic check the vital systems such as brakes and steering etc. but what are you guys' thoughts?  These coaches seam to be well built and have lots of life left but am I wrong?  I know there's lots I'm overlooking here but any major issues I'm missing?  I should also note that it has been under a carport the entire time and has been used as a vacation spot so stayed in periodically but not steady.  All interior equipment works as it should but it's been plugged into shore-power the entire time.  Thanks!
