I have a '95 Intrigue with a 300 hp C8.3. I have a noise when the exhaust brake is applied and only when it is applied. It seems to change pitch with RPM. It sounds like a squeeling fan belt, but it isn't. I am thinking that maybe it is one of two exhaust clamps leaking. The one on the outlet of the exhaust side of the turbo, or the one that connects the exhaust pipe to the pacbrake. Anyone else had this?

I found it. The number 6 hole exhaust manifold gasket is leaking and that stainless steel gasket was acting like a whistle.
Hopefully I can just replace that one gasket. I am not so sure that the exhaust manifold isn't warped....that would be very bad.
Anyway....that is the skinny.

Mike,
I have a 96 Intrique and notice that when I have my exhaust brake on, there seems to be a loud high pitch whinning noise associated with it! When I accelarate, it goes away. Release the pedal, it returns! I haven't had any problems with the Pac Brake and hope this is normal. Haven't had anybody tell me different?

Mike,
We lost the pipe that goes from our turbo to the muffler last week. Burned a hole in an air line and melted some transmission wires. CCI told me that they have had 5 coaches do this.
