A little off topic, however with the price a fuel climbing everyday, whats everybody paying for diesel these days? In Long Beach, CA area, diesel prices are around $2.20 a gallon. At one truck stop, diesel was 15 cents HIGHER than regular unleaded fuel!

Kathy,
Diesel is still a bargain here, we paid $1.48 in Texas and $1.59 in florida, and it is still cheaper then unleaded. I don't mind the price, I worked for an oil company
for 32 years and I still have oil stocks. I also understand what it cost to get the product to the customer. Ten years ago when I built a gas station the EPA would make me burn all the dirt that came out of the tank hole, 500 ton at $80 a ton plus hauling to the burn unit and the disposal plant. Then they would turn around and use the dirt in asphalt. Get the government out of this and I think the problem would go away for a while.

At Flying J in West Texas its $1.54 and a few cents higher in Eloy Arizona, a few cents cheaper in San Antonio, and lower in Olklahoma. At regular stations diesel costs more than REG. In Arizona Diesel in town is 30 cents a gallon plus higher than at truck stops. ALbuquerque is a few cents higher than west Texas. TWI 11731 2004 Intrigue

Thanks to all who replied on the lack of power issue. I really wasn't aiming my other question at the current diesel prices. Just at the slowly sinking MPG. You folks are the greatest. The old addage about ask and you shall receive is so true on our CC forum.
Thanks again - Kathy & Emerson Marsh
