I have completed my horn sound-improvement project. I replaced one of the 20" horns with a 26" horn and the sound is terrific. Hadley quoted me $ 99.95 for the horn but my credit card was charged $ 120-- shipping and handling? With a $ 5 tube of sealant, the total cost of the job was $ 125, with my grandson and I doing the installation.
This should have been an easy project, but the lag screws on the rear bracket of the original horn turned freely but wouldn't come out.
This required grinding the heads off and enlarging the holes in the new horn to accomodate larger screws. Also, one of the screws holding the CC logo shield on the old horn had to be drilled out so I could use that shield on the new horn. These minor aggrevations plus the gooey sealant spread over the original installation like peanut butter made for a harder than anticipated project, but the results are well worth it. Now it doesn't sound like I have just one horn!
