We have a 40' 2001 Intrigue with Onan generator, can we run both ACs when only using the generator? (assuming we're not using much else.) Thanks...Jan

Jan,

Yes, you can run both air conditioners with your 8000 watt generator. The Dometic manual specifies a minimum generator size of 3.5 KW to run one air conditioner and 5.0 KW to run both air conditioners. You have an 8 KW generator, so it will run both easily and still have 3 KW left to run other things.

Stay cool.
Don

I have a 99 magna with an 8 kw and it handles both ac's easily, the only time it has kicked the breaker was with both ac's on heat and the microwave, tv, and then my wife added hair dryer which was the final straw and it kicked the breaker on the gen set dave

Thanks, Dave, for the list of stuff you were able to run off the genset...sounds like plenty to me! Jan
