We will be heading out as full timers at the end of the month. We are looking for recommendations of places in South Dakota to help us obtain an address and to forward our mail. So far we have seen information about Alternative Resources out of Sioux Falls and Myhomeaddress out of Emery. Any thoughts or comments about either of these organizations and their work? Any additional recommendations? Thanks for your help.

Bobbi & Tom,

We've used Alternative Resources for mail forwarding since 2002.
Service has always been great. We often meet others who use AR and never have heard any complaints. We've also met a few who use MyHomeAddress and hear no complains about them either.
One thing to consider before chosing - check auto/RV insurance rates for both locations. We found rates for the eastern end of the state (Sioux Falls) were much lower than the western (Rapid City) end. The difference may be much greater than any difference between the forwarding service charges.

We looked at both Alternative Resources and My Home Address. In the MHA info, they said they paid close attention to detail, yet their letter was full of misspelled words. MHA is cheaper than AR, both give the same service but MHA is a "mom and pop" type outfit. I have talked to people with MHA and none of them have had any trouble, likewise with AR. I suggest you call both places and talk to them and go with the one you feel most comfortable with. We are very satisfied with Alternative Resources.

Bobbi and Tom,

I use Alternative Resources and have done for almost a year now.
I'm in Sioux Falls today to set up my South Dakota residency and will be in the Alternative Resources offices tomorrow to pick up my mail and meet some of the ladies who send it out when I call. It'll be nice to have faces with the names, just as it will be great to meet some of the members here when we get to the Class Reunion.

Use my name when you call Alternative...they'll give me a discount.
LOL
